Land Acknowledgment + Social Justice Values.
Land Acknowledgment
As a Latina, I am deeply committed to creating a world that is inclusive, equitable, and just for all people. I acknowledge that I was born on stolen land, and I want to pay my respects to the Indigenous communities who are the original stewards of this land. I am grateful for the visible and invisible ways Indigenous communities have cared for this land. I honor their deep connections to this land and the sustainable practices and values they have that prioritize the well-being of the land and its inhabitants, including human and non-human beings. My heart breaks for the violence and displacement that has had lasting impacts on Indigenous communities and continues to shape the social, economic, and political landscape of this region.
The traditional territory of St. Paul, Minnesota is the homeland of the Dakota people, who are also known as the Mdewakanton, Wahpekute, Sisseton, and Bdewakanton. I recognize the harm that colonization has caused and am committed to actively working toward decolonization and supporting Indigenous communities.
Social Justice Values
I recognize that as a lighter-skinned Latina, I hold privilege. I support racial justice for BIPOC folks and am committed to being an inclusive, anti-racist organization.
I firmly believe that we must dismantle white supremacy, along with the many systems it has created – from the police to mass incarceration, healthcare inequality, wage gaps, and more. I work on continually learning and living in a way that helps dismantle these systems.
As a Latina RTT® therapist and coach, I am dedicated to supporting and collaborating with BIPOC people and organizations within and outside of my own community. To the BIPOC folks who would like to work with me, I offer a limited number of sliding scale slots for those who may not otherwise have access to my services and have personally partnered with other organizations offering free services to BIPOC folks such as the Lively Foundation.
To other BIPOC RTT® providers and coaches: I would love to network with you! I am always looking for ways to collaborate and support one another, so please reach out to me if you are interested.
All are welcome here, always.
I fully support LGBTQ+ equality and the celebration of all identities. I accept and affirm all gender identities, expressions, and sexual orientations and relationships, including polyamory and consensual non-monogamists.
I am continually exploring ways to challenge colonized structures and to support and promote BIPOC folks. I welcome feedback and suggestions from anyone who shares these values. This page is a living work in progress, and I am always seeking to learn and grow in my commitment to social justice. If you have any suggestions or would like to ask me any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for being part of this journey with me and I look forward to working with you.
